The third annual Mister Santiago 2011 contest was held this past December 2 (we are talking Santiago del Estero in northern Argentina, not Santiago, Chile). 25 handsome young chicos competed in what was billed as "el concurso de belleza masculino más importante de toda la provincia..." The winner was Germán Alcorta, 18, a first-year university student majoring in Physical Education. First runner-up was Rubén Recaman, 20, and second runner-up was Lucas Daniel Isa, 23. Wikipedia says that Santiago del Estero is the oldest city in Argentina founded by the Spanish. It is nicknamed "Madre de Ciudades" (Mother of Cities).
