Goldcoast.com.au, 22-nov-2009: Upper Coomera country boy Alex Biffin, 23, lassoed the title of Mr Manhunt Australia at the 2009 Manhunt Australia final last Thursday. The event, held at the Discovery Night Club in Darwin, saw Alex go up against 16 other finalists in a showdown for the sought-after title. After a big night out with only a couple of hours sleep, Alex told goldcoast.com.au yesterday his win had yet to sink in. "When they said my name, I was thrilled to say the least -- it was one of those moments you never forget," he said. Mr Biffin said he had been preparing for the contest by running 9km every second day, weight training at the gym and eating his mum's famous tuna bake.

Whip it good, you gorgeous jackaroo, you!

Mr Biffin, who worked as a jackaroo at Mt Sanford Station in the Northern Territory for three months said his mum was amused to have her little boy modelling in front of a crowd of screaming women. "I hope to get a bit of exposure from the contest and get into acting or modelling." Mr Biffin said he hoped his country boy charm would win over the judges. First runner-up in the contest was Stephen Musca, 24, a sports nutrition sales manager. Second runner-up was Brendan Stonestreet, 29 and a personal trainer.
