Did he pull out or not? In time or not? Beauty School would like it to be know that like Europride, it would make any and all accommodation if only André would pull back in, regardless of his sexual orientation!

From The Advocate: More than 50,000 participants are expected to attend the annual Europride celebration in Zurich this weekend, but the current Mr. Switzerland will not be among them, Agence France-Press reports. Organizers of Switzerland’s premier male pageant allegedly forbade André Reithebuch, the current titleholder, to attend.

Accounts in the Swiss tabloid Blick allege that Reithebuch, a 22-year-old carpenter who has a girlfriend, initially accepted an invitation to attend Europride. However, the tabloid charges that the Mr. Switzerland organization ordered him to avoid the event, expressing fears that his attendance could lead to speculation about his sexual orientation. Urs Brülisauer, a spokesman for Mr. Switzerland, downplayed the appearance of homophobia. "This is not a decision that is to be directed against gays,” he said.

Europride organizers, for their part, insist they would be willing to accommodate Reithebuch on his own terms. “And the girlfriend he should take -- in such matters, we are very tolerant," said a spokesman.
